  • Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with US President Joe Biden.

The two leaders met in a closed-door meeting on Monday during the NATO summit in Brussels.

The one-on-one meeting at the NATO headquarters lasted for 45 minutes

Regarding his meeting with President Erdogan, Biden said that they had a positive and productive meeting.  He remarked  that the talks between the delegations will continue, adding that he believes that they will make real progress between Turkey and the United States.

 

 

  • Turkey and Azerbaijan sign ‘Shusha Declaration’ to boost defense cooperation.

President Erdogan's long-planned visit to Shusha took place on June 15th.

In advance of the joint News conference, Erdogan and Aliyev signed the Shusha Declaration which has taken the relations between the the two countries to a new level.

The declaration provides a roadmap for the future of relations between the two  states in areas ranging from military, defence industrial technologies, energy, transportation, economy and human relations.

 

  • Antalya Diplomacy Forum is prepared to be held

The city , which hosts many international events and welcomes tourists from all over the world,continues its preparations for the Diplomacy Forum,where state leaders will be hosted.

At the forum, the most important regional and global issues on the world's agenda will be discussed on a free platform. It will bring together heads of state and  government ,,foreign ministers, representatives of regional and international organizations and business people from around the world.

The forum will be held by the Turkish Foreign Ministry from June 18-20.

 

  • The “acute” phase of the COVID-19 pandemic in Turkey is nearing an end.

Turkey has administered over 35.6 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine doses since it launched a mass vaccination campaign in mid-January,

 Health Minister Fahrettin Koca said that Turkey administered over 1.2 million coronavirus vaccine doses in a single day, marking a record in its vaccination efforts .

In the virtual meeting with Hans Kluge,the World Health Organization regionaldirector for Europe, Fahrettin Koca said  he thinks  that the acute period of the pandemic is nearing its end and Turkey is starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. 

 

  • The Turkish National Team fought with Wales in the second match of the 2020 European Football Championship.

 In the game that took place at Baku Olympic Stadium, The Turkish National Football Team lost 2-0 to Wales in the second match of the 2020 European Football Championship  Group A and failed to score at the end of their second match.
